[ARCHIVED] Smoke in a Commercial Building - James Madison Pkwy

On August 01, 2019 @ 04:19 hrs, Unit were dispatched for the reported smoke in a commercial building (WaWa) at 5362 JMPY.  Rescue Engine 2 AOS to find a 1 story commercial building with nothing evident from sides Alpha, Bravo, and Delta. Rescue Engine 2 staged at the hydrant on side delta. 360 revealed nothing evident on all sides. Crews spoke with employees, whom stated that power has been out for an extended period. When power supply returned, employees noticed an odor of smoke. RE2 began investigating with a crew of 3. Crews found no visible smoke inside the structure and a slight odor of smoke. The structure was checked and no signs of fire were noted. The cause was unable to be positively identified. The electrical panel was checked with no tripped breakers noted. Odor of smoke was faint and dissipated on scene. The assignment was held with Rescue Engine 2. All others returned to service. RE2 remained on scene to advise store employees of the situation update. Employees were advised to call 911 if conditions changed. The store was permitted to resume normal operations. Rescue Engine 2 returned to service.
