On November 30, 2019, Units were dispatched to assist Westmoreland County with a injured hiker at the Westmoreland State Park. A hiker was approximately 2 miles into the woods when she suffered a broken leg. Westmoreland crews were already on scene, and requesting UTV 1 for extrication. MRU 1 responded with UTV 1 to the scene. Contact was made with Westmoreland crew, which had already packaged the patient into a stokes basket. King George crews assisted in rescue operations to winch patient up a steep embankment, then loaded patient onto pt. transport skid, and transported pt. via UTV out of the woods. Pt. was transported approximately 1.81 mi. on UTV to a waiting ambulance. Command terminated and units cleared at 18:14 hrs.
