Chris Clarke joined the King George Parks & Recreation team in October 2018. A graduate of James Madison University (B.S. Health Sciences) and Ohio University (M.S. Recreation) Chris has experience with all facets of parks and recreation including day camps, before/after school programming, sports leagues, tournaments, special events, and instructional classes. Since his arrival, Chris has led the department through the development of the 2022 Needs Assessment as well as directing capital improvement projects such as the tennis center reconstruction, construction of the Cedell Brooks, Jr. Park picnic shelter, the new playground at Barnesfield Park, and the addition of sports field lighting at Sealston Sports Complex (soccer) and King George Middle School (baseball and softball). Chris serves as the secretary of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee and the Chair of the regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (FAMPO).
When not at work Chris enjoys playing pickleball and watching his four children participate in athletics.
