Our department was the recent recipient of a donation by the Southern Maryland Dirt Riders Club (SMDR). The club was looking for ways to support public safety in King George and wanted to make a donation for a piece of rescue equipment. With the SMDR’s donation, the department was able to purchase a “Litter Wheel II.” This piece of equipment consists of a frame with an off road tire. The configuration allows it to be connected to a stokes basket for moving patients from austere or remote areas in the county where all-terrain vehicles may be inaccessible. Thank you to the Southern Maryland Dirt Riders club for your donation of this life safety rescue equipment!
