On February 19, 2020 at 00:18 Hrs, Units were dispatched for a fire endangering a structure at the Murphy’s Express on James Madison PKWY. Caller reported a sign on fire near the exterior of the structure. Rescue Engine 2 AOS to find a small fire on the exterior of a one story commercial building. Crews found a plastic cigarette receptacle on fire near the building. Fire was quickly extinguished with a water can. Outside fire caused scorching to exterior of the building. Crews checked a locked storage container and the exterior of the building for extension with none found. The area was wet down and cooled with a handline. BC1 AOS and requested KGSO to contact the manager of the business. Crews checked the interior side of the exterior wall with thermal imaging cameras. No obvious extension was noted from the interior of the building. Command was terminated and units returned to service at 01:50 Hrs.
