[ARCHIVED] Uncontrolled Control Burn - Kitchen DR

On March 9, 2020 at 16:02 Hrs, Units were dispatched for a control burn that was out of control on Kitchen DR.  Upon arrival units found approximately 100’x150’ area of woods on fire. Brush 2 began suppression on the left flank, while Brush 28 took the right flank. Tanker 2 hooked supply lines to both brush apparatus for sustained water supply. BC1 arrived and assumed command from Lt.2. Brush 28 advised they had two patients, the homeowners, for evaluation. One had sustained minor burns, and the other had fallen down the embankment. Paramedic Ambulance 289 was directed to their location, where they were assisted by B28 in evaluating the patients. Both patients ultimately refused transport. Brush 1 assisted B2’s suppression efforts while Tanker 1 was staging. Fire was contained and then extinguished. Fire was held to approximately the  same size as found upon arrival. Command was terminated and all units packed up at 17:24 Hrs. Property owners were advised of the burn law and to discontinue burning in the woods.
