1. What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check and credit card are accepted. Please note that paying with a credit card will incur an additional 3% fee.
2. How do I schedule an Inspection?
To schedule an inspection, please call 540-775-7111. We do not schedule same-day inspections. The cut-off time for a next-day inspection is 3 pm.
3. What is the permit pick-up process?
If the permit has been paid, it will be in the pick-up bin outside our office. Otherwise, come to the counter, and we will be happy to assist you.
4. What documents are required for a permit?
Every permit application will need contractors and tradesmen licenses, legible building plans and a site plan. This can vary depending on the nature of work. A checklist of documents is included in the application.
5. How long does it take to get my permit?
7-10 business days, unless the plan reviewer needs more information.
6. Can I get a farm exemption?
Farm buildings and structures, not used for residential purposes, located on property where farming operations take place, are exempt from permit fees. You will need to submit a farm exemption affidavit to our office.
